Phil Bernstein

From 1995 through 2009, Phil Bernstein called himself Portland's Finest Media Rep. It said so on his business card, Phil pointed out, so it had to be true. He joins Jim Doyle and Associates as a Senior Consultant in January, 2010.

As an Account Executive for Clear Channel Radio, he specialized in direct business – the art of sitting down with a business owner, figuring out what makes the company special, and designing an advertising campaign that delivers new customers and incremental sales. By his estimate, he has written more than 500 car dealer commercials, and has also written successful spots for everything from window dealers to tattoo removal clinics, to two different companies specializing in whole body donation (ask
him about that some time).

Before selling radio, Phil spent eleven years working in professional baseball, including nine seasons with the New York Mets. He keeps his 1986 World Series ring in a safe deposit box now. Although it was a great conversation piece on sales calls, he kept losing it. He's also managed a record store (remember record stores?), seen Bruce Springsteen in concert more than 30 times in four different decades, and ridden in an elevator with John F. Kennedy, Jr.

Phil lives in Portland, Oregon with wife Michele and son Ryan, a high school Junior. His other son, Tyler, is a Senior at University of Oregon in Eugene.
